Information Day: Multi-media techniques and processes workshop

4 August, 2010

You're invited to attend an information day at 11am August 4th at Belfast Exposed about the forthcoming workshop 'Multi-media techniques and processes – a toolkit for mapping points of view of the city'.

For all information day and workshop information email: niamh.mcdo@googlemail.com

About the workshop:

The workshop is co-hosted by Belfast Exposed and Digital Arts Studios, Queen st. will be held at Belfast Exposed on August 18th and DAS on August 19th, 10am – 5pm

This workshop is the first of a series offering community arts facilitators or artists working in the community the opportunity to be part of the project “on-off-states”, mapping points of view of the city. The project plays on the idea of the google map, collecting audio and visual material describing cityscapes through analogue and digital recording devices. Using low cost materials in the making of contact microphones and open source software programmes in the manipulation of still and moving image capture, participants experience a range of technical processes, building the resources of a multi-media tool kit.

Workshop facilitators will be Niamh McDonnell (multi-media artist/researcher), Pawet Bignell (visual artist), Cavan Faynes (sound artist)

Anyone interested in further details about the workshop and the project can come along and meet Niamh at the open information session at Belfast Exposed on August 4th at 11am.
