Children in Need
Community Partners: Bridge Youth Club, Safer Lisburn and Rossmar School - facilitated by Mervyn Smyth - 1 May to 30 June 2012
The Children in Need project provided young people with opportunities to develop skills and increase their self confidence through the use of photography.
The project engaged 60 young people from 6 disadvantaged communities across Northern Ireland, these communities included Bridge Youth Club, Safer Lisburn and Rossmarr Special School.
The young people took part in a set of practical photography skills workshops that enabled them to gain an Open College Network accreditation. They were also able to access the Belfast Exposed’s darkroom, studio and digital suites throughout the programme.
A programme of public exhibitions and events was created by the young participants working in collaboration with Belfast Exposed artists, curators and designers.
