Four artists, Sean Campbell, Olivia Devlin, Jiann Hughes and Conan McIvor, have been working on new and innovative work, whilst benefiting from the training and workshops on offer at DAS. The works produced for this show utilise a wide range of media and take shape via multiple sculptural, technological and digital forms.
The Digital Arts Studios is delighted to be able to present these new works in the Exchange Gallery at Belfast Exposed.
Please join us for the opening of this exhibition in the Exchange Gallery on Thursday 6 March from 7-9pm.

Olivia Devlin’s work is largely anthropological, exploring the nature of conflict and the way in which two or more opposing groups, and thus two or more different cultures, can occupy the same physical space. She recently returned from an extended research trip to the Middle East funded by the Beatrix Antje van der Stel Grant. During the trip, which involved travelling extensively within Israel, the Gaza Strip, Egypt, the West Bank, and Syria, she took a very large quantity of photographs and video, and spent the course of her residency at DAS editing the work and preparing it for publication. Olivia is the University of Ulster MFA Graduate award winner.
Jiann Hughes creates experiences of wonder using sound, video and light. Jiann is currently based in Belfast and completing a PhD at the University of Technology Sydney. This practice-based research explores participant bodily experiences with bio-sensing artworks. The work has been exhibited in Australia, New Zealand, UK and Ireland.
Conan McIvor is a Belfast based filmmaker and video artist. His diverse practice spans from experimental film and video art to ‘moving image’ design for installation, theatre and performance. His work has been exhibited internationally in Trondheim, Sarajevo and Paris in a variety of exciting venues including a disused police station, freight container and sonic lab as well as traditional gallery spaces. Recently the lead artist for the OU’s public art commission “Luminous, Curious, Journey”, Conan showcased a large-scale video installation on the lawn of Belfast City Hall with further installations at the Open University Building, May Street.
