Wish You Were Here
Artist: Prime collective - 30 January to 9 February 2014
Wish You Were Here is an experimental collaboration between Belfast Exposed, PRIME collective and a group of participants who inhabit and/or have a keen interest in East Belfast.
The group committed to weekly meetings at the Templemore Swimming Baths and PRIME's 'Bath House' space in East Belfast, where – through a programme of photography workshops, talks, presentations, participant-led explorations, poetry and discussion – they investigated and actively engaged with this part of the city. It was facilitated by Belfast Exposed community artists Charlie Bosanquet, Alissa Kleist and Tonya McMullan.
The work made by the group during the 10-week workshop period was shown in an exhibition at Belfast Exposed from 21 November - 30 November 2013. Another exhibition of the work will take place in The Bath House, East Belfast from 30 January – 9 February 2014.
The group also created a set of postcards these are available to view in The Belfast exposed Reading Room.
The artists involved in the project were John Baucher, Charlotte Bosanquet, Jonathan Brennan, Mitch Conlon, Rhonda Hunter, Stephanie Johnston, Sara Johnston, Alissa Kleist, Ruaidhri Lennon, John McKeown, Tonya McMullan, Theresa McVeigh, Simon Mills, Max Surin
This project would not be possible without the kind support of Templemore Avenue Swimming Baths, Belfast City Council and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
There will be an opening of this work in the Bath House, 4 Glenmore Street, Belfast, BT5 4HE on Thursday 30 January 2014 from 7 to 9 pm. All welcome.
