Celebration is an exhibition of images selected from the extensive collection of negatives housed in the Belfast Exposed Photographic Archive.
While the archive poses a major historical document, witnessing many of the key events of the Troubles, the images chosen for this exhibition aim to illuminate aspects of life in Belfast over the last four decades that are monumental in their own way as well as incidental, personal and part of the everyday.
These images celebrate life in Belfast through the eyes of its inhabitants, and invite the viewer to share in some of these moments: from a wedding and a 100th birthday to a street party in the rain.
