Common Ground: New Work by Belfast Exposed Students
1 October, 2010
New work from Belfast Exposed students
Opening Thursday 21 Oct, 7-9pm
Exhibition Run 22 Oct - 20 Nov 2010
Belfast Exposed believes in supporting artists and photographers at all stages of their careers. This is our opportunity to showcase the work of emerging photographers, who have been supported through our own training programmes.
Tattoo artists, seamstresses, nuns and street musicians, the spaces they create and inhabit. Images of contemporary migrant workers alongside the Titanic Quarter's derelict sites of former industry. This exhibition pays homage to the classic documentary genre, centring on themes of work and a sense of home. It provides a snapshot of a city and a country in flux, where cultural diversity, employment, architectural change and religion are still to be documented with as much sensitivity and intent as ever before.
