"Probably the most disturbing thing was shoes - leather is one of the few things that seem to survive whatever organisms are there on the sea bed..."

David Livingstone is Harland & Wolff's Chief Naval Architect and has a wealth of experience and knowledge. Naval Architects have a huge responsibility and a wide brief including everything from designing and overseeing the construction and repair of marine craft and floating structures to supervising and co-ordinating engineers, builders and designers. There is also a research element to the job and it is in this capacity that Mr Livingstone was invited to make a trip to examine the wreck of the Titanic. His descriptions of what he saw down there and his insights about what should happen next make very interesting listening.
