"Now they built a big ship down in Harland's..."

Crawford Howard was never employed by Harland & Wolff... officially... but in his student days he used to go down to the yard with his friends, put on a pair of overalls and... work. He enjoyed the craic and wanted to see how long it was before anyone noticed him. I don't think anyone did. Mr Howard is known for his epic poem 'The Diagonal Steam Trap' which was inspired by his days in Harland & Wolff. This recording was made by Mr Howard in the Harland & Wolff Welders Club in front of a very appreciative audience.
