Introduction
The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum's archive today contains over 300,000 still images representing the way of life of the people of Northern Ireland and, on an international scale, aspects of the history of transport. Although the archive comprises collections of varying sizes, the William A. Green Collection of photographs, taken in the 1905-1930 period, illustrating many aspects of life and place, and the Harland & Wolff Collection, covering shipbuilding and engineering in the company's yard in Belfast, are both notable for their size and importance. The photographs reproduced here have been made available courtesy of UFTM.
