Linda Conroy – Futures Artist
Linda Conroy joined the Belfast Exposed ‘Futures Artists’ programme in 2018 and produced a solo exhibition ‘Breaking the Mould’. Since then, a selection of Linda’s series was exhibited at Visual Carlow, Ireland.
Linda Conroy is a Visual Artist from Cork. She works with constructed image, archival photographs and other materials using photography as her prime medium. Her interests lie in the psychology of the human experience with a particular curiosity for how we form objects, traditions, beliefs and value systems. Reflecting on how these things in turn inform our desires and aspirations affecting how we function as societies.
On graduating from Belfast School of Art in 2014 she was subsequently awarded the Artist in Residency at the University for 2015. She has since exhibited work at various Galleries including the RDS, Ulster Museum, Nerve Visual Derry and Stills Gallery Edinburgh. Her first solo show Breaking the Mould took place in 2019 at Belfast Exposed Gallery. A selection of work from the show was exhibited at the 2019 group show ARTWORKS at Visual Carlow alongside other selected artists and including works from the IMMA collection.
