About The Event

Join Noelle McAlinden and artists Dawn Richardson, Jonathan Brennan, Paul Doran, Emily DeDakis, Chad Alexander and Barry Cullen as they discuss the process of making to the wire and the flexible landscape of co-creation in ever-changing environments.

Co-creation is a collaborative partnership where all participants contribute equitably to decision-making and where the creative process holds as much meaning as the eventual output.

The low expectations of art created within the guise of mental health discourse has often been met with patronising rhetoric and the quelling of ambition. The tolerance of considered risks as a possibility for innovation, creative agency and nurturing trust have been key to the success of this co-production between Hosta Projects and NI Mental Health Arts Festival, filmed late 2023 between Lebanon and N. Ireland.

This event will be filmed by NVTV.

to the wire is a co-production of Hosta Projects and NIMHAF. Supported by the Baring

Foundation, NI Digital Film Archive, Belfast Film Festival, Belfast Exposed and Film Hub NI allocating funds on behalf of BFI.
