About The Event

An introduction into how to use field recordings to compose a soundtrack for a film or other media. The aim is to create an understanding of how to use technology to examine locations and use them as part of creative practice. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop with (free) audacity software, an enthusiasm to engage with their environment and critical listening skills.

Maker & music producer Barry Joseph Cullen uses withered technologies and found materials with hi-fi audio and graphics to create work. He uses old DIY & new tech approaches. He uses appropriation and physical remixing to present questions and answers to address the connection between traditions. His work deals with the relationships between people, places and things.

Supported by NI Mental Health Arts Festival and Hosta Projects.
