About The Event

Belfast Exposed invites you to Joan Alexander in conversation with Bryonie Reid, as they discuss Joan's project Proof of Ghosts.

A workshop will be held after the talk focusing on tearing, casting and printing shadows.

The event will take place in Belfast Exposed on Friday 1 April, from 1pm.

You can book your free ticket here.

Proof of Ghosts navigates a sudden bereavement with the raw ingredients of photography and a blog. Alexander uses the space to explore the traumatic tangle of time that follows death. Working with test strips, shadows and tracings, images are dismantled and rebuilt to pursue signs of presence. Proof of Ghosts structures solitary grief and opens the question of how do we still mourn?
