About The Exhibition
This December, for the second year running, Belfast Exposed will be transforming part of the gallery into the Big Christmas Photo Sale! This is the perfect opportunity to buy a unique Christmas gift and support the gallery & local artists at the same time.
The sale includes a wide variety of works, including portraits, landscapes and abstract work. All of the work has been submitted by local artists and photographers. In addition, 25% of each purchase will help support Belfast Exposed’s Mental Health and Wellbeing programmes, which focus on photography as a therapeutic process, and encourage participants to be more active, meet new people and gain new skills as well as increasing their general wellbeing.
There will be an official launch on Thursday 1st December and the exhibition will continue until Friday 23rdDecember. All works will be available for immediate collection upon purchase.
As part of the sale, Belfast Exposed will also be selling limited edition prints from our historic Archive, which depict notable political & social events from the 1980s onwards, as well as some more humorous aspects of our past. The Belfast Exposed Archive consists of approximately one million negatives and slides compiled from professional and amateur photographers, and communities
“In these tough times, this is a great opportunity for photographers to sell their work and get showcased in Belfast Exposed Gallery. In the past 18 months, Belfast Exposed has developed an extensive therapeutic mental health and wellbeing programme in which the commission from the sales of the works will go towards the delivery of the programme”
Deirdre Robb, Chief Executive Belfast Exposed
Artists wishing to submit work to the sale can do so until 25th November. More details available here.
